Here is my resume, detailing my corporate career in software development. I took a break from my career in 2002. I've just recently gotten back into it.
Lately, I'm interested in database driven web applications. Though HTTP and XML were integral parts of the product my last company built, I never got around to building my own website. Recently, I helped a friend out and added a database and some PHP pages to a his website to provide him with some basic content management functionality. I built this site using Drupal and couldn't resist getting under the hood to learn how it all works. In the process of those two projects and through additional experimentation, I have now learned HTML, PHP, CSS, and some Javascript. It's fun!
I'm currently researching Ruby on Rails, which I find refreshing and exciting after having been in the trenches of proprietary and platform-specific telecommunications and enterprise systems development for so long. I'm entertaining some ideas for a few "killer apps", and I think RoR might be just the platform for them.
I've also written numerous programs of my own through the years. I'll try to get them together and post them here eventually. I hope to have other more current information on this page soon also.
